BBLP Membership Update – April 9th, 2020

BBLP Membership Update: for the safety and health of our Park staff

As per Governor Inslee’s directive to Stay Home we are further limiting access to the Park

There is no way of guaranteeing who is infected and who is not with this virus and we are taking these actions for the safety and health of the Park staff who remain and are performing essential services.

If BBLP members continue to ignore/disregard Governor Inslee’s mandate then the Board will have to pursue further action in regard to access to BBLP.

As has already been announced and implemented:

All gate cards have been deactivated.

We are now advising members that during the COVID-19 Pandemic and during the essential services only designation, access to the Park by members such as checking on sites and mowing of lawns is not considered an essential service and will no longer be allowed. We do not want to risk the health, safety and lives of our staff.

During this time the Board will be directing staff to conduct a weekly inspection of each site for security purposes and report any anomalies to the Acting General Manager.

BBLP Security staff will be checking sites, looking for obviously open doors or signs of entry.  This is being done as a courtesy to members and members will be contacted if anything is found amiss.

To clarify, we had announced that Members and their significant other (“not others”) were the only ones allowed in the Park.

This meant that no guests of any kind were allowed in the Park.

No immediate family or extended family members of Park Members were to be allowed into the Park.

Members were not permitted to escort guests of any sort into the Park.

We would like to notify the BBLP membership that this was not followed by all. We had a recent incident with a guest of one of our BBLP Members who was in the Park in defiance of the Board direction, this guest was found to be very abusive towards BBLP staff and was under the influence of alcohol. The guest invited a second guest (also under the influence of alcohol) to visit Leisure Park. Both guests being on-site were in flagrant disregard for the Washington State orders, current BBLP regulations and BBLP staff direction to both guests on site.

Abuse of BBLP Park Staff, abuse of BBLP Rules and Regulations and abuse of BBLP facilities will not be tolerated.

Therefore, these BBLP Member(s) are being cited and fined, as per the Rules and Regulations of BBLP.

All unauthorized and nonessential persons asked by BBLP Staff to leave and/or not enter the Park and then not comply with that request, will result in the BBLP Member being fined. We will also be calling the Sheriff to immediately remove the person(s); as we deem them to be trespassing.

Please follow the State of Washington mandated guidelines to:

“STAY AT HOME” ...

As you may know, we had arranged to have security in the Park on a 24 hour/7 day a week basis. We will be extending this security coverage for the duration of the “Stay at home” order and the border closure.

The Board has been in constant email contact with one another and with BBLP office staff. We have also stayed in touch through regular phone meetings and utilizing online meetings with the Board and acting General Manager to stay on top of this continually changing challenge.

There are several other issues that we know are important to the membership and we assure you that we are on top of those issues, we are working out solutions and looking forward to notifying the membership of decisions in a timely manner. Several members have raised the issue of mowing lawns and this is not an essential service at this time.

Please stay healthy, stay safe and stay home

We look forward to seeing you all at BBLP as soon as safely possible.

The Board of BBLP
